Construction is underway on America's first commercial Hempcrete project

Hillside Sustainable Living has switched from cement to hempcrete to construct our next 12-unit multifamily building. We can sequester carbon and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by utilizing hemp-lime biocomposite wall panels. Hillside Sustainable Living is the largest biocomposite construction project in the United States using hemp and lime. The biocomposite wall panels are made of hemp fiber and lime binder, cast in wood frames with a steel lifting skeleton.
